Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York is in big trouble. The State Attorney General issued a fire-breathing report about how he improperly touched or groped eleven women. She used quotes from the accusers and others to bolster her point.
Immediately thereafter, practically every fellow Democrat
with a household name demanded he resign.
Andrew Cuomo is not an only child. He has three sisters and
a brother. His brother Chris is a TV newsman on CNN. Among his chores is
a one-hour program that ran last night, the day the Attorney General released
her report with great fanfare.
Chris’s program followed a one-hour report on the Governor
and made no mention of that story.
If you were the governor’s brother, what would you have done
at nine o’clock last night? His choices?
1.
Do the story like
everyone else.
2.
Take a sick day and
stay out of the spotlight.
3.
Do the show and
ignore the story.
Chris chose Door Three.
Was that defiance? Or dereliction? Or “he’s my brother… what
would you expect me to do?”
Some call it journalistic whiplash. I call it an
impossible choice.
My opinions are my own but you’re welcome to them. ®
