2024 Money Doesn't Talk. It Mumbles

huge money has to stop talking exclusively to big money and start setting things right.

It’s time for the people who really run America to reclaim their birthright.  No, it’s not The People.  We don’t count.  It’s not the three branches of government.  You see what a job they’re each doing. From the lowest member of congress to the supreme court, to the president, every one of them is a failure and everyone who wants to join their two-party party has high potential for the same low creaturedom.

The people who are really running the country work on Wall Street, work in the front offices of big banks and run industrial farms, major manufacturers, oil fields, media outlets, pharmaceutical and tobacco companies, and megachurches, both acknowledged and not.  And don’t forget the insurance companies.

Oh, you may think that big tax break for the rich kept the huddled masses of billionaires happy.  It may have for a while.  Except all these newly-flush “job creators” aren’t doing much job creation, keeping wages flat and investing heavily in stock buybacks and yachts. And you might think that a white supremacist in the oval office is keeping is giving aid and comfort to some “very good people” waving flags with swastikas.

But that’s just temporary.  The dictatorship is around the corner and the only people who can get us out of that trap are the people who got us into it.

You think rich people are rich because they’re smart?  Well, some of them surely are.  But they live on the same smartness bell curve we all inhabit.

Note to anyone with a net worth over one billion dollars: The only way you can die meaningfully is if the rest of us are there to note it.  You have the power to set things right.  Now, get at it.

SHRAPNEL:
--Further evidence that most crooks get caught because they’re stupid. Someone set up a meth lab on a main drag in the tiny borough of Bellefonte, PA.  It was just around the corner from the county court building, the DA’s office and the Sheriff’s holding tank.

--At a county-owned but privately run nursing home just a short distance from the meth lab, police are investigating accusations of a staffer or staffers failing to report the distribution of controlled substances to residents.  All of which raises an important question. Is that happening at the handful of other local warehouses for the elderly and infirm?
